Gift an Ancient Greek Olive Tree
A Living Gift From Greece
A gift that does not end on the day it is given. An ancient olive tree in a historic Greek grove, named for the person you wish to honour, sending them olive oil from its harvest each year and welcoming them whenever they choose to visit.
A Gift for the Moments That Matter Most
Some occasions ask for more than an object. A wedding, where a tree can grow alongside a marriage. The birth of a child or a christening, where the tree will still be bearing fruit when that child has children of their own. A significant anniversary, a milestone birthday, or a retirement that closes one chapter of a life and opens another.
The same is true of the relationships that shape a business. A private bank marking a decade with a valued client, a family office honouring the principal family, a law firm or adviser concluding a matter of real consequence, or a luxury brand thanking its most loyal patrons: each deserves a gesture that reflects the years behind it, rather than another branded object that is acknowledged and forgotten. A tree given in a client’s name, with oil from its harvest arriving at their table each year, keeps the relationship present long after the occasion itself. For firms, the gift is arranged around the relationship, with presentation, invoicing and timing handled discreetly on your behalf.
An olive tree in Greece suits each of these occasions because it continues, quietly, long after the day has passed.
What the Recipient Receives
Within 48 hours of the gift being arranged, the recipient receives an online stewardship certificate, together with the story of their tree: its history, the area and grove in which it stands, and photographs and video of the tree itself. Around fifteen days later, the same materials arrive by courier in a luxury presentation box.
A handmade olive wood plaque, written by hand with their name, a family crest or a dedication of your choosing, is placed on the tree in their honour. Through the year, they receive photographs and video of the tree as it is cultivated through the seasons. Then, around December, after the November harvest, extra virgin olive oil from their own tree arrives at their door, bottled under their name, subject to the season’s yield.
The recipient also holds an open invitation to visit their tree in Greece, at a time that suits them, to walk the grove, meet the growers who care for it and, if the season allows, take part in the harvest.
Choosing the Tree
You may choose the tree yourself, and we will share photographs of the trees currently available so that you can select one with care. Or, if you would prefer the recipient to make that choice, the gift can be arranged first and the tree chosen afterwards. We gently recommend choosing at the outset, since the certificate can then carry the full details of the tree from the very first day.
For Last Minute Occasions
When time is short, the gift can be presented digitally. The online certificate and the story of the tree can be shared on the day itself, with the presentation box following by courier.
Gift Options
The Legacy Tree is a single historic olive tree, with a one off Ownership Fee from €3,000. It is the most natural choice for a personal gift. The Heritage Grove gives three to five trees forming a small private grove, with a one off Ownership Fee of €6,000 to €15,000, and suits a family or a couple. The Legacy Estate is a bespoke arrangement around a named private grove, from €25,000, for the most significant occasions and for family offices. Full details of each are set out on the Ownership page.
The Ownership Fee is paid once. The only recurring cost is the annual stewardship fee, which keeps the stewardship in place: €1,000 a year for the Legacy Tree, €3,000 to €5,000 a year for the Heritage Grove, and from €5,000 a year for the Legacy Estate. As the giver, you may settle the stewardship fee in advance for several years, so that the gift is complete from the start, or renew it each year. When a prepaid period comes to an end, the recipient may continue the stewardship by renewing it themselves.
How a Gift Begins
Every gift begins with a private conversation. You tell us about the person and the occasion, and we suggest the trees and the form of gift that suit them best. Once the tree and the dedication are agreed, the online certificate is prepared, the presentation box is sent, and the plaque is made by hand and placed on the tree. From then on, the gift continues on its own, season by season.
