About Olea Legacy

Where Olive Tree Ownership Meets
Heritage & Luxury

At Olea Legacy, we believe true luxury is timeless

Beyond trends & products, it is the privilege of belonging to something greater

A living story of land, legacy & soul

Where heritage, stewardship and luxury meet.

Olea Legacy exists to connect a small number of discerning people with the ancient olive groves of Greece in a way that feels both deeply personal and quietly luxurious.

Rather than simply selling bottles, we invite you to own a tree or a grove, receive oil from your land and visit the place that now carries your name.

about olea legacy

How Olea Legacy began

Olea Legacy grew from a simple realisation.

The most interesting forms of luxury today are not about display.

They are about belonging.

Greece offered the perfect answer. Here, olive trees have been tended for thousands of years. Some individual trees have lived through empires and revolutions and still bear fruit.

Our founder Yiannis Karapiperis asked a question.

How could we share this living heritage with people around the world without turning it into just another product.

The response became Olea Legacy, and a way to:

  • Own an olive tree or group of trees in a historic Greek grove.

  • Receive early harvest extra virgin olive oil from that tree each season.

  • Visit the grove, meet the people who care for it and understand the landscape that sustains it.

Since then, Olea Legacy has developed into a considered blend of tree stewardship, fine olive oil production and curated travel, always with a quiet, luxury private tone.

Greek heritage at our core

To understand Olea Legacy you have to feel the depth of the olive tree in Greek culture.

In myth, the city of Athens chose the olive tree as its gift and emblem. In history, Olympic victors were crowned with olive branches. Writers called olive oil liquid gold and treated it as both food and symbol.

Our groves are rooted in that world. They are:

  • Located in regions with long standing traditions of olive cultivation.

  • Often composed of trees that have been in the same families for many generations.

  • Surrounded by small chapels, stone terraces and traces of older ways of life.

We work with local stewards who know their trees as part of their own story. Together we ensure that the groves remain productive, respected and open to a small circle of owners rather than being abandoned or overdeveloped.

When you visit, you may see a modern mill standing beside a preserved stone press, terraces rebuilt by hand and chapels where harvest blessings have been whispered for centuries.

Past and present sit easily together.

A commitment to stewardship and sustainability

From the beginning, we viewed each Olea Legacy tree as a promise.

Olive trees can live for centuries, but only if they are cared for. In many parts of the Mediterranean, older groves are being neglected or uprooted in favour of short term projects. Our approach is different.

We focus on:

  • Regenerative farming, with no harsh chemical sprays and a strong emphasis on soil life.

  • Encouraging ground cover plants that protect against erosion and support pollinators.

  • Returning pruned material and olive by products to the soil, creating a natural loop.

  • Respectful water management suited to a Mediterranean climate, including the reuse of captured rain where appropriate.

Beyond the trees themselves, we consider sustainability in human terms. A meaningful part of each ownership and harvest experience payment flows directly to local farmers, millers, guides and partners.

This helps communities stay rooted in their land and makes it easier for younger generations to see a future in caring for old groves.

It is luxury that supports, not replaces, a way of life.

About Yiannis Karapiperis
Founder, Olea Legacy

Yiannis Karapiperis grew up in Crete – Greece, where olive trees are part of the daily life. Ancient groves line the roads. Families speak of their trees the way others speak of houses.

That relationship between people, land, and olive culture stayed with him through two decades of work in luxury tourism and hospitality operations across Greece and the United Kingdom.

Over nearly twenty years, Yiannis built his career at the intersection of luxury travel, UHNW client experiences, and hospitality operations,  working across both countries, developing a precise understanding of what discerning international clients actually value when they travel, invest, or seek connection to a place.

He studied at the University of Greenwich in London, where he has been based for much of his professional life.

The idea for Olea Legacy emerged in the spring of 2025 from a simple but persistent question: why has no one created a genuinely premium, personally meaningful way for people around the world to own a piece of Greece’s oldest living heritage?

The answer he found was that nobody had approached olive tree stewardship as a luxury experience in its own right, with the same rigour, curation, and attention to the client’s journey that the finest hotels and private travel operators bring to everything they do.

That gap became Olea Legacy.

Working immediately with a team of agronomists, hospitality specialists, legal advisers, and local grove stewards in Greece, Yiannis built Olea Legacy from the ground up as a first-of-its-kind offering:

a genuinely personal, long-horizon luxury experience rooted in one of the world’s oldest agricultural traditions.

In 2025, Olea Legacy was recognised by the Luxury Lifestyle Awards as the Best Luxury Olive Tree Ownership Experience in Greece, an acknowledgement of the standard the brand had set in its first year.

Yiannis continues to lead the business from London, with operations and heritage partnerships centred in Crete and across Greece’s historic olive-growing regions.

The team behind the experience

Delivering the Olea Legacy experience requires a mixture of disciplines rarely found in one place.

Our team brings together:

  • Agronomists and olive oil specialists
They oversee tree health, soil care, harvest timing and milling. Their work ensures that each bottle reflects both the potential of the grove and the highest quality standards.

  • Hospitality and travel professionals
With backgrounds in fine hotels, private luxury travel and event design, they curate each visit. From arrivals and tastings to quiet moments in the grove, they shape experiences that feel effortless and precise.

  • Legal and structural advisers
They make sure that the ownership model is clear, robust and respectful of local frameworks. Their work stays in the background so that your experience feels simple and secure.

  • Cultural and local hosts
Families, farmers, millers and guides who open their world to you. They bring warmth, depth and authenticity that cannot be invented.

Together, we manage something that feels at times like a small estate, a boutique hotel and a cultural embassy woven into one.

What sets Olea Legacy apart

Many olive oil brands tell a story of place.

Olea Legacy adds an extra layer by making that place yours.

Key differences include:

  • Ownership, not only purchase
You are not buying a logo on a bottle. You are acquiring a living tree or grove that bears your name and sends its fruit to your table year after year.

  • Traceability in the most literal sense
The oil you receive comes from defined trees on defined land. You can stand under them, see the soil and talk to the people who tend them.

  • A long horizon
The experience is designed to unfold over years. Annual harvests, repeated visits and gifting from your own supply allow your relationship with the tree to deepen.

  • An understated expression of luxury
There are no crowds or loud displays. The luxury lies in the quiet of the grove, the weight of a story that feels entirely yours and the knowledge that what you enjoy has been produced with care.

More than a brand A living legacy

In the end, Olea Legacy is best understood as a framework for stories.

There is the story of the tree, which begins long before you arrive and continues after you are gone.

There is the story of the land and the people who have worked it over centuries.

And there is your own story, which becomes entangled with both when you choose to plant your name in Greek soil.

Each year, when you open a new bottle from your tree, you taste all of that in a quiet way. If you would like to explore how your own legacy in Greece might take shape, you can:

Olea Legacy is about tending what endures.

Trees, landscapes, relationships and stories.

One olive tree at a time.
